The growing diabetic population is a major driver of the diabetes nutrition market's expansion. According to the International Federation of Diabetes' 2017 report, approximately 425 million adults worldwide suffer from diabetes, with the number expected to rise to 629 million by 2045. Rapid urbanisation, which results in lifestyle changes, is also expected to drive market growth.
Furthermore, key market players are focusing on the launch of new products in order to expand their product portfolio.
However, the substance or ingredients used to make diabetic nutrition food products can sometimes cause the patient to have skin allergies, gastrointestinal disturbances, and respiratory tract infections. This is expected to stifle market growth over the forecast period.
